RIDLEY PARK BOROUGH REORGANIZATION MEETING

MONDAY, JANUARY 4, 2010


The Honorable Hank Eberle, Councilors Bob Berger, Jim Glenn, Ken Harper, Jeanne Frantz and Councilors-Elect Samantha Snow, Suzanne Murtha, Jared Brennan and Tax Collector-Elect Rich Snyder convened at the Ridley Park Athletic Club, 105 East Ward Street, 2nd Floor, for reorganization. Mayor Eberle called the meeting to order upon the arrival of Magisterial District Justice, Judge Jack Lippart.

ROLL CALL: All councilors present for a fully-attended Council meeting.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT

Motion made by Councilor Suzanne Murtha to nominate Councilor Bob Berger. Seconded by Ken Harper. Councilor Berger was elected Council President by unanimous vote.

Motion made by Council President to accept Roberts Rules of Order. Seconded and accepted by unanimous vote.

APPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL VICE-PRESIDENT

Motion made by Councilor Ken Harper to nominate Councilor Suzanne Murtha. Seconded by Jared Brennan. Councilor Suzanne Murtha was elected Council Vice-President by unanimous vote.

APPOINTMENT OF PRESIDENT PRO TEMPORE

Motion made by Councilor Suzanne Murtha to nominate Councilor Jared Brennan. Seconded by Jim Glenn.

Motion made by Councilor Jeanne Frantz to nominate Jim Glenn. Seconded by Ken Harper.

Jared Brennan elected by a 6-1 vote.




APPOINTMENT OF BOROUGH SOLICITOR

Jack Whalen, Esquire of Whalen, Doyle and Pressman was appointed

APPOINTMENT OF BOROUGH ENGINEER

Catania Engineering was appointed

APPOINTMENT OF CIVIL SERVICE SOLICITOR

William Neill, Esquire was appointed
